Celebrate Friendship!

Celebrate Friendship!

I have a long-outstanding promise to a friend to post our pictures in internet, I keep reminding myself and keep on forgetting, until today. And I did more than just posting it in my FB account… I made a Smilebox digital scrapbook with designs, music and all… that is, with effort!

This is a compilation of our “celebration” of friendship that filled our 2009 with joy and inspiration… just being together.

These Are the Days….

These Are the Days….

My greatest appreciation to my staff and colleagues at Audit Department. Life and work wouldn’t have been so engaging, rewarding and “easy” without the enthusiasm, commitment, motivation of these people. I have learned a lot from this bunch and I hope that I was able to inspire them too. Our moments of working, planning, achieving and playing together deserves this video clip I made:

These are the Days, by Natalie Merchant.

my Aliya….

my Aliya….

Aliya is growing up… fast… the changes maybe subtle, but it’s there! Here’s a smilebox slideshow showing her “transformation” in four months (from August to November in 2009)….

My Boy!

My Boy!

I am amazed (and a bit saddened) by sudden changes happening with my boy Jolo. He is not quite a boy now… and he’s not quite a teen yet! He is 11 and as if suddenly the transformation seemed “overnight.” Physically, he grown fast (he is almost my height), his voice became husky, his face is more “serious” and he now chooses teen’s apparel and stuff. His demeanor became more subdued (no longer the wacky guy who goofs around). It’s not that I really mind, it’s just that I’m not yet prepared….
But, what preparations do parents need really? I don’t know! But well, I know we have “experienced” his boyhood and growing up, without moments spared, so I think I have to embrace now this new phase in his life with same glee and amazement!

Jolo Before (one-and-a-half years ago), wacky, playful, rough and sweet!

My litte boy, Jolo! (just a year ago), witty, charming, full of delight, curiousity and awe!

My BOy! (just early this year), thoughtful, creative, still awes at nature, funny and adventurous!

Jolo, “raw and unwashed” (recently), subdued, camera-shy, mindful, artistic and still my boy!

“Filipinos may be poor… but they are not poor in spirit”

Amidst calamity and disaster, Filipinos still find ways to survive and brings the best out of the situation. Filipinos cannot be defeated by any crisis, but can always rise from the rubble…. with a good spirit!

Picture Moment #15 – Way to go….

Picture Moment #15 – Way to go….

One of my life’s goals is to travel, travel, travel… and that is, with my family. It’s quite pricey and takes big chunk on our savings, but the joy and memories it bring are immeasurable, unquantifiable and lasting. Once we get old, these will be the moment we will remember and cherish most (because I guess we’ll have vague memory of our routinary working days! – and who would want to think about that?)
First picture shown was that of Papi in 2004 at the Peak, Hong Kong. We came back there in 2006, when Lean was already up for travel and the Disneyland had recently opened. Probably in 2011 when Aliya is about the travelling age, we will go back to Hong Kong.
Second picture was that of Jolo in 2007 in KL Tower, overlooking the Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpar. We just loved peaks and heights!
Life is short, and there are soooo many places to go!

Picture Moment#11: My Pinggz!

Picture Moment#11: My Pinggz!

see how Lean grows through the years. He is so cute and sweet. and until now he remains as sweet as ever! He is a very thoughtful boy. I love him to bits that sometimes I treat him still like a toddler (and he still acts one sometimes)….
Love You Lean!

Picture Moment #9: Aliya… One…

Picture Moment #9: Aliya… One…

my aliya, age:one, future artist (or accountant or architect… all up to her). our aliya, our princess, our blessing, our precious gem!
We thought we will never got a chance to have you! It’s been seven years since your Kuya Lean. We almost thought we stopped there! But there is really a longing for a baby girl like you! The moment we knew you were coming, we were so excited! Nothing can compare the rewarding feeling! We love you and we hope we could be good parents to you!

Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful earth!

Picture Story #5: 1000 kids

Picture Story #5: 1000 kids

toys, kids, generosity, sharing, love…. that’s christmas!
The picture was from 2008 toys gift-giving at Letre Dagat-Dagatan Malabon, for almost 1000 kids. Last year was our 10th year of charity work on that place. And we know we will back for more… If not at the same place but at other depressed site. It was done with the help of my former SGV boss (Mr. Manny Clarino) and my current colleagues. Volunteers and contributions were pouring. So as the kids who went there! We hope we made everybody happy!
What’s my greatest passion? I think it is in “giving”…. i live to give… if not at all times material things or monetary… then my time, my efforts, my self….
This year I plan to make this charity work better and with larger coverage….
Any volunteers??

Picture Story#2: BFF

Picture Story#2: BFF

I know 2 guys who are BFF (best-friends-forever) in its true sense and form! They are too much attached to each other that they already knew each other’s moods, qualms and “tantrums” (i dont if they are talking about girls now!). They have a same taste of movie, shows (gag shows), pasttime and jokes. They knew when to have fun or when to settle down. They are even “look-alike” They can be so mean to each other or can be so sweet and engaging! I got jealous sometimes. I don’t think they have other friends outside that they treat as same as they do to each other!
Here’s their recent pictures, taken at the airport and while we were in Boracay last May 2009.
