Project K for K! Another Hit! (Episode 2)

Project K for K! Another Hit! (Episode 2)

Event: Project Kindness for Kids (Share-a-toy!)
Place: The Garage, Matungao Bulacan
Date: December 24, 2009
With : Family

Yes, another episode of Project K for K was held at Matungao Bulacan, Bulacan (our hometown). We have prepared toys for about 150 kids within the vicinity and we gave it away on the 24th. It’s been fun, warming experience having brought smile to kids. Plus, the “cousinhood” was having a really great time volunteering during the distribution…. Some of our nephews and nieces even waited on the line to receive their share of toys as well, then they distributed candies. It was also a plus-experience for Chuko and Deanne as, aside from having fun too, Chuko also need “community service credits” even on vacation as required by their school back in US.
Christmas is really for fun, fun, fun and giving, giving, giving! What a wonderful blessing being a part of a blessing to others (even in simple ways…). What a wonderful feeling! Life is really meant for these moments!

Here’s my tribute to my whole family, kins or clans:
Regardless how “huge” is our family, we remained intact, happy, excited, close and harmoniously together! And to think we are now “breeding” the 3rd generation,
We are really indeed blessed and lucky being born in the right time and right place with right family….
See this music picture clips of our glorious times together…

These Are the Days….

These Are the Days….

My greatest appreciation to my staff and colleagues at Audit Department. Life and work wouldn’t have been so engaging, rewarding and “easy” without the enthusiasm, commitment, motivation of these people. I have learned a lot from this bunch and I hope that I was able to inspire them too. Our moments of working, planning, achieving and playing together deserves this video clip I made:

101 Minus 7th – One Great Spontaneous Adventure (UAAP Basketball Finals) #33

101 Minus 7th – One Great Spontaneous Adventure (UAAP Basketball Finals) #33

October 8, 2009
warrior
We got spontaneous tickets to watch the UAAP Basketball Finals Season 72, University of the East vs. Ateneo…. And we had one great and spontaneous fun and excitement!

It was so great that despite clamor for tickets for this finals, my friend was able to get tickets within 2 days before the game. It was so amazing (as it was quite impossible to get tickets on short-notice). But through the “power” of our ever-enthusiastic, and ever-resourceful friend Flor, we got 22 tickets! So, SVS staff also came! (the Partners and the staff are almost all UE alumni!)

It would have been Super Great if UE won the title (after almost 10 years?)… but unfortunately Ateneo won. (see the score board below)

But regardless, we really had fun and the verge of adrenalin! Even for the not-so-basketball-fans (like me), the game will make you jump and shout and be carried away. The event was really memorable (especially when they sung the UE theme – which amazingly we can still sing)

Great! Great! Hope next year we’ll be able to repeat this! Go UE Warriors Go!

101 Minus 6th – The 29-day Giving Challenge (#60)

gift
I came across a site: 29-day Giving Challenge: Changing Life One Gift at a Time!. It promotes simple acts of altruism and generosity believing that one simple deed can make an impact to anyone. Thus, I challenged myself to do conscious “effortful” act of giving. (But I have a confession to make, I officially did the 29-gift-giving in 59 days, but there are menial gifts in between).

True to my theme “butterfly effect,” I believe that this will change somehow the series of event in the lives of those people I “touched”… I just hope and pray that only good things will it bring….

by the way, i will not stop on the 29th gift…. :)

Batch ’87

Batch ’87

pier one_1017 134Last night was a celebration of Orly’s Birthday along with our St Joseph’s buddies and friends (from high school and elementary) at Pier One at QC. We have actually representatives from all sections: St Elizabeth, St John, St. Dominic, St. Ignatius! (if you still remember your beloved section!)

We had a really great time, telling stories, updating life-stories, cracking jokes, goofying around, appreciating the “journey” of each of us had from then to now, and amazing how years have not “actually” changed us… we are still young (at heart and spirit!)… and we can be the same good old buddies… and as if no years had set us apart!

I really believe that we became what we are now because of the friends we made and the dreams we shared with them… as we inspired, aspired and gone separate ways…. then, to meet again with stories to tell!

Just As I Remember…

Just As I Remember…

I am looking forward seeing my old friends from my high school tomorrow… I am excited but quite apprehensive… Some of them I regularly see, except those few that I didn’t see for quite some time, like 20plus years! We have contacts, one way or another, that’s what technology is about… but seeing them is different thing… I realized that I missed them… (Funny that feeling of “missing” them at the only moment you think of them…. Well maybe because of the sheer delight of these memories of childhood and friendship!)

Well, It made me remember now those days in high school when:
1. we usually walk home to save the fare
2. I was the favorite courier of love letters of male friends
3. we spent time in back street carinderia
4. we love to join the dance show, singing contest, declamation or any school presentation
5. I was tasked to measure the school ground using a toothpick (as initiation for COCC)
6. I lost spelling bee because of the word “inflammable” (I still believe that it should be single “s”)
7. I competed a Science Quiz Bee with a student from another school that eventually became my business partner (the “verde” in SVS)- by the way he won the bee
8. we lost the student body election
9. I once had sported spike hairstyle (eewww)
10. we were punished for insubordination during CAT time
11. we had drinking spree in between breaks
12. I helped a classmate in distress when she had a mishap while having LBM (ohh just imagine)
13. we formed CSG and GMS (full names are so lame, so I better leave as that)
14. we had countless bumming around in nearby classmates’ house (how can i forget the “haunted house” of Lee Ng’s)
15. I had few pesos for my recess snack that I have to help other classmates with their homework for a free snack (my constant customer is my papi now — just his style to get closer to me -haha)
16. we loved to sing “Desert Moon” and “Friend of Mine”….

and a lot more!

High school is just the moment to have fun, make great friends and doing silly stuff.

Well, I will see them tomorrow and let’s see if age have not impaired our memories!

My In-Laws are in Town!

My In-Laws are in Town!

My mother-in-law, stepfather-in-law (British), and brother-in-law (twin brother) are in town for two weeks. They stayed in our house and they are just in time for the 1st birthday party of my Aliya (which is so happened also the 61st birthday of her lola). We made their visit special by having the dinner date on their actual bday (june 11), we have a get-together at Malabon on Lolo Mama’s bday, too. We had despidida party at Tita Vivian’s house, etc. We went “shopping” at plastican, divisoria and SM Manila. No extravagant vacation but we just make every minute of their stay worthwhile with lots of laughs, crying(?), and playing around aliya! And my papi (although he is not making it obvious), he is very happy!

Picture Story#2: BFF

Picture Story#2: BFF

I know 2 guys who are BFF (best-friends-forever) in its true sense and form! They are too much attached to each other that they already knew each other’s moods, qualms and “tantrums” (i dont if they are talking about girls now!). They have a same taste of movie, shows (gag shows), pasttime and jokes. They knew when to have fun or when to settle down. They are even “look-alike” They can be so mean to each other or can be so sweet and engaging! I got jealous sometimes. I don’t think they have other friends outside that they treat as same as they do to each other!
Here’s their recent pictures, taken at the airport and while we were in Boracay last May 2009.
