The Adventure is Out There

Standard

image

The coming days from now and the near and far future is somewhat “new” to me as I embark on my next chapter of my life. After long years of being part of a corporate world, I am now on my own…. There are fears, yes; hesitations, definitely; worries, for sure …. But there are really moments of great anticipation and excitement. I know I have prepared myself enough for this, and I am more than ready. I Know!

Talking more about positivity, I am now beginning to embrace (and enjoying) the “freedom” I have now. It’s more of the luxury of my time to do what I think really matters now to me. To see again what I am capable of doing in different fields. To experience again the new and renewed energy and creativity. To rekindle again relationships. To enjoy the extra time spent just playing and creating and keep on learning. The possibilities are endless… so why hesitate, why worry.

The adventure… the grand adventure begins (again)…

The Years of …. Let me think….

Standard

Going back to blogging here is quite a small challenge. Well, I think I have to rake again my confidence to write even a simple note.  A courage, should I say.

Blogging I say is just my one way of having some sort of “accountability-partner” to help me commit or maybe put me in to-terms with my everyday moment, AWARE and all FIRED-UP.  That was the purpose I think why I have this blog 6 years back.

But as I reviewed my page now, and saw my stats, its quite too disappointing… to see, what? 1 blog year… haha… not even one last year (well there are 50 drafts beneath it, but that doesnt count, I know)… But here was the time gone… And where was I??

That was the question really… and lots of regrets actually…

Time passed, and I realized, that I somewhat “wasted” (oh such a strong word!) my time for the past ummm 2 years… doing practically things that just keep me by, or shall I say, just cruising and doing things “aimlessly” (ouch again)… I realized that I have not “hooked-up” myself in some grand plan or aspiration. Looking back, I wonder, what did I accomplish? or at least what did I contribute? I forgot, or I just not very interesting even to mention.

Well, bear with me, I will engage myself in lots of mind-exercise to take some memory-recall (and probably, blog it). Aside from recalling (aka doing throwbacks), I will “activate” again my passion-button and live purposefully, or what do you call that? wholeheartedly!

No excuses, no alibis.

Have to be at the moment ALWAYS.

52Weeks Adventure/Challenge:

Week 1 Blogging… (get that courage and keep the momentum)

#52weeks

My Next 52 weeks of Adventure… and more..

Standard

My Next 52 week of adventures (and misadventures) begin (again) today.  This day I am going back to my blog and revive again the fire and passion and aim and anchor of my everyday life.  Looking back, I have “justified” the purpose of my blogging as something that it keeps me anchored to my aim and goals and be conscious about my every precious minute spending with and for what truly matters… Lets start again….

Virgin Island, Bohol – Day 2

Standard

(Catch-up post : June 2012)

After a few rest on the swing under the tree at Balicasag Island, Kuya Bankero took us to another island called “Virgin Island.” An uninhabited island that can be gone under the water during high-tide. Going there is a challenge because of shallow water that time. You can see the corals and sea grass on its shallow bed. And the island and the crescent sandbar, another beautiful place to be… we took a “bath” (if that what it means by just sitting and laying on the sand)…

After awhile Kuya Bankero decided to start our way back, because we might get stranded if the water will further subside and became shallow, going back will be a big problem. So off we go, not a straight-line route to Panglao Island though, as he has to choose the correct path of deep water. Going back took us too long…

This is one of few moments that one can be at peace with nature and savor its beauty and misgivings… Another day to remember that there are so much to than about…

Preparing for Hong Kong 2013

Standard

Been planning for this family get-away for about two years now… Now, Aliya is ready (and excited) to take this tour. This time, it’s all of us five (and those who are willing to come with us). We’ve been saving for this and each of us has a piggy bank (and Aliya is already on her 3rd “savings”)… This is a treat for Aliya’s 5th birthday, and she is very excited that she already announced this to her classmates and cousins. 🙂 Aside from Kuya Jolo (who’ve seen HK 2 times before and is contemplating not to come with us — BUT I am insistent for Aliya’s sake and memories), we are all talking about this and counting the calendar with Aliya.

So I have to make the preparations and researching and booking.
I had actually booked our flights via Cebu Pacific 50% fare via Clark. And now, titas and cousins have signed-in to join, we are now 11 in the group.
A big splurge but we will make this happen!

Bohol: “Date,” and Nature Adventure – Day 1

Standard

Our Bohol Escapade : Date with Papi

We were alone on this trip, no kids, no friends, new place, new adventure… We look forward to wonderful time. Little have I researched about this place, i only did my “homework” a day before we leave. I want to be surprised and amazed… I just need the keywords for certain tours and spots, and leave everything to last-minute arrangement.

First nice thing stored for us is the beauty of the resort, Flushing Meadows. It’s actually for “honeymooners” and those want to be “isolated.” The resort landscape is admirable, the rooms are cozy, however, the beach is narrow and not too inviting. And the food is quite pricey… Anyway, we can adjust and still enjoy the place.

I have only arranged our first tour when we get there, I called Kuya Jerry (recommended by colleagues) and set the following desired places: Dauis Church, Mag-Aso Waterfalls, Hinagdanan Cave, St. Joseph Church, Alona Beach. All of these I choose are not included in our hotel package.

Dauis Church, a beautiful, artful church, with well-known miraculous eternal well (balon) of holy water. The ceilings are artistically designed with murals and moldings. I got so many shots of this posted in my Instagram.

Next stop is quite far and out-of-the-way, the Mag-Aso Falls… I really have to see it, so I insisted to include here in our tour. The falls is splendid, but have to take 97 steps down to reach it… No sweat… :>

It’s quite dark when we reached the Hinagdanan Cave, the ticket booth have already closed, but an enthusiastic guide let us in (over-the-bakod)… Nothing can stop us at this point (we came this far not to see this!)… It’s worth it, and our guide was very funny! Thanks for the wonderful experience (and photos)!

We just passed by the Panglao Church because it was about nightime. We’ve decided to “splurged” on our dinner and beer on seafoods restaurant along Alona Beach. We had great time watching the fire-dancer (which is actually just a kid)…

So that’s Day 1 of our Bohol Experience… Will blog the Part 2 next time…

Summer Weekend at 8 Waves Waterpark

Standard

Late post: it happened May 27, 2012
Before we end the summer vacation, we have to have meaningful, fun-filled getaway together as family. Since taking the whole family to Bohol is quite to costly (i have good-for-2 free vacation to Bohol, but bringing the kids along is a big chunk in budget), so we decided to have a family overnight getaway at 8 Waves Waterpark and Resort, a nice place in Bulacan too. So we packed our bag (luggage!) and bought some food, and got a room in their hotel (thanks for the discount, we are supplying the souvenir pillows in their resort).

We had a great time together…!! The first time of us 5 (only), together in overnight trip…
